Mental Health Association of San Mateo County will work closely with Alta Housing to provide two FTE case managers and one part-time Occupational Therapist to work on-site. MHA will offer workshops for Health and Wellness as well as support for community building.
Practicing a Housing First Services approach, staff will also work with residents and outside providers to assist with move in and identify individual needs, including but not limited to medical, mental health, financial, and in-home support. MHA will work with tenants on individualized plans to address these needs.
MHA and Alta Housing have partnered on another affordable housing site, also in Redwood City, which serves a similar population of formerly homeless individuals with incomes less than 60% of the Area Median Income as determined by HUD.
Services that will be offered are planned to be both supportive and complementary for the residents and staff and will include:
Case Management for individuals who have no external support service team.
Liaison between residents and property management staff as needed and appropriate
Assistance managing self-care and activities of daily living.
Training and assistance in budgeting, completing applications for financial assistance, entitlements, and representative payee help.
Mediation among residents
Mental Health referrals
Medical referrals
Transportation assistance
Assistance obtaining emergency food or financial assistance.
